この問いは、人類が古代から向き合ってきた最も根源的な問いのひとつです。
現代の宇宙論では、「ビッグバン」がすべての始まりとされていますが、なぜビッグバンが起きたのか、なぜ“無”ではなく“有”が存在するのかという問いに、物理学はいまだ明確な答えを持っていません。
哲学では、「存在理由は必要ない」「無が存在しないことがむしろ不自然」とする考え方もあります。
一方、神学的には「神の意思」という解釈もあるでしょう。

This is perhaps the most profound question humanity has ever asked.
Modern cosmology suggests that the universe began with the Big Bang—but why did it happen at all? Why is there something rather than nothing?
Physics can describe how the universe evolved, but not necessarily why it exists.
Philosophers have long debated whether existence requires a cause—or whether nothingness is more unnatural than something.
Theologians might say it reflects divine will.
